India has my heart. I have been there three times in the last four years, a little for work and a little for fun. It is a place of mystery, dirt, excitement, fear, terrible smells, fantastic scents, unbelievably good food and smuggled beers. Fuelled by endless chai and as many Masala Dosas as you can manage India is a land were truly anything can happen and probably will. I have chased trains down platforms while being cheered on by onlookers, watched the dead being carried through the streets, climbed to the top of ancient rocks (and nearly couldn’t get down), almost had my camera stolen by monkeys, helped fishermen pull in their catch and sailed on a boat that was completely infested with cockroaches. It is all at once exciting and exhausting, intrusive and peaceful, I can’t wait to go back.
These pictures are taken all over india including the heat of Mumbai, the craziness of Varanasi, the deserts of Hampi and the tranquility of Kerala.
